“One of my favorite muses has been my first grandchild, Sally, who is featured in several of my pieces. Painting children and animals involves a great deal of compassion for the subject. “Puddle Jumping” features not just Sally but me as well as we splashed happily in puddles one rainy day. It was a joyous moment I tried to capture. The pure sweetness of a child laughing and playing is one of God's greatest gifts. I am constantly in awe of how happy I feel when I am blessed enough to be able to spend time with the kids in my life. God wants us to laugh. To play. To share our joy with each other. I have received two awards on “Puddle Jumping” to date, and have sold several giclee prints of the image. I'm so glad that people find it as fun as I do.”
